10 Essential Things to Know Before Booking a Cycling in Ubud With Kids
Planning a family holiday in Bali and wondering if cycling in Ubud is suitable for children?
This is one of the most common questions we receive from families visiting Bali. Parents often ask about bike safety, children’s equipment, road conditions, lunch options, and whether the experience can be customized for younger travelers.
The good news is yes—it can.
At Cycling in Ubud, our private family cycling experience is specifically designed to be safe, flexible, and enjoyable for families with children of different ages.
FAMILY CYCLING
In Family Cycling tour ubud, do You Have Bikes for Children?
Yes.
We provide bicycles suitable for children from around 5 years old, depending on their height and riding ability.
For toddlers, we provide a secure child seat attached to a regular mountain bike, allowing parents to ride comfortably while keeping young children safe throughout the tour.
For older children, we carefully adjust the bicycle size before the ride begins and provide helmets for every participant.
Every family is different. Some children love cycling, while others need a little more confidence—and that’s completely okay.
Our route is about 50% flat, 25% gentle downhill, and 25% gentle uphill. If a child feels tired or isn’t comfortable on the uphill sections, they can simply ride in our support vehicle, which follows the tour from start to finish. When the road becomes flat again, they can continue cycling.
There is no pressure to complete every kilometer. For us, the goal isn’t how far your family rides—it’s making sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and leaves with happy memories of authentic village life in Ubud.

We usually recommend an e-bike only for guests with knee problems, joint discomfort, lower fitness levels, or anyone who would simply like extra assistance on the gentle uphill sections.
For families traveling with toddlers, the parent carrying the child seat must use a regular mountain bike, as child seats cannot be installed on e-bikes.
